New technologies can improve business performance in the aquaculture sector and COVID-19 pandemic is speeding towards digitalisation of seafood industry.

SAFER project partner Foodintech is a pioneer in MES (Manufacturing Execution System) IT solution, for fish, shellfish, algae, processing Industries. An integrated system of software and hardware, designed for the control of production, quality, food safety, traceability, stock, picking and distribution. It is a fundamental software for an Industry 4.0 strategy capable of monitoring and controlling all stages of the production processes in real time and allowing data collection from the factory floor to the back office to achieve data-driven decisions.

This technology has been piloted in seafood companies from Ireland, France and Portugal as part of the SAFRRproject.
